This event will be running on the same day as DOORS OPEN DAY.
St James Fair was an extremely important annual social and commercial event for Bristol under the patronage of St James Priory. It was one of the biggest Fairs in Medieval England but was closed down in 1837.
This year we are running a commemorative Fair and entrance for visitors will be free. There will be a charge for Stallholders and Commercial Organisations. The St James Parks will be used ad the Priory Church will be open for music and tours alongside Doors Open Day.
To book a stall or a commercial pitch please contact 0117 9299100 or email :
Mass will be celebrated on 25th July at 6pm .
All are very welcome.
Community Payback have been providing support over the last couple of months. Firstly with upgrading the South Garden. Then painting the railings and now painting the 'Front' door of St James House.
MANY THANKS.
The Transformation Continues.
On Saturday 30th April on Anneka Rice's Saturday Breakfast show St James was mentioned in the "Pause for Thought" slot. Check it on on the BBC iPlayer Radio about 15 minutes into her show.
Here are some photos of the gardens that John, a fantastic volunteer, has created just inside the gates to the Church courtyard. MANY MANY thanks.
