WALSINGHAM HOUSE

Sep 24 2012

St Mungos are now the custodians of Walsingham House. They have agreed a 3 year lease arrangement to provide a Men's Mental Health Crisis Centre for Bristol and are making final preparations for this. The new service will commence from 5th November.

We are pleased to be able to work with St Mungos and are delighted that the charitable aims of St James Priory will continue with this new venture.

Please contact St Mungos for further information about this new service: Tel: 0117 9349848.

WALSINGHAM HOUSE

Jul 30 2012

We are now very close to finalising an agreement with St Mungos for them to use Walsingham House as a Mens' Mental Health Crisis Centre. This is a new provision for Bristol and allows St James Priory to continue its charitable work for vulnerable people.

The new service is due to start in September.

WALSINGHAM HOUSE CLOSURE

Jan 31 2012

It is with great sadness and regret that we have to announce that the Trustees and Management of St James Priory have been forced to make a very difficult but considered decision to close Walsingham House with effect from 6th January 2012.

This decision is a consequence of a debilitating reduction in referrals. Since October 2011 we had  only 1 referral and from November we had no clients at all in the service. The resultant lack of funding ensured that we were unable to achieve our break-even financial  targets and  in the closure of a valuable resource for people with addictions.

We remain committed to continue working with vulnerable people and are exploring ways in which to do this with the Walsingham House building.

St James House (Supported Housing) will not be affected and will continue to operate.
