Support for Vulnerable People

Based in the centre of Bristol  the St James Priory Project Charity provides unique services to support people during difficult periods in their lives.

Onsite we have support services for people with a mental health problem and also for those  in recovery from drug and alcohol dependence.

Walsingham House is a Men's Mental Health Crisis Centre operated by St Mungos Broadway.

St James House provides residential accommodation and support for people in recovery from addiction and is run by St James Priory charity.

Please use the menu on the right to access more detailed information.

We also provide general support to individuals and groups including AA and Compassionate Friends on a day to day basis. We will signpost people to other  relevant  local support services according to individual need.

The core values of the Project can be summarised as:

Compassion
Acceptance
Respect
Empathy

“ Today I am responsible; everything in my life is good and ongoing. I take things one day at a time; I have my ups and downs, but it is how I deal with life now, and it is so different to how it used to be: a miserable existence.” JF

“Thanks for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself.
Thanks for caring for me when I couldn’t care for myself.
Thanks for loving me until I could love myself. Thanks for being there.”  DV
